Top Comment: I finished it in one sitting. I haven’t seen the anime, but I had a general idea of what it’s about. Honestly, it’s not a bad show — as long as you go in with an open mind and don’t expect it to stick closely to the original material. It’s only loosely based on the anime and manga.
Bet (Netflix) Review/Discussion/Critique Thread
Main Post:
Please keep discussion/critique of Bet to this thread.
There are way too many repetitive "Bet is bad" or "Bet is actually good" posts right now.
Top Comment: I am someone who has only seen the animes and the Japanese live action before this and loved the anime but felt very meh on the way they did constant 4th wall breaking in the live action. For me the 'Inspired by Kakegurui' is doing a lot of heavy lifting. I don't like the way they changed some of the characters personalities but kept the names. I'd rather them have changed the names too. I wish they had stuck to more of the original storyline especially with the games they played. The overarching story for Yumeko doesn't really hit for me at all. It feels like it could've been in there but not been the main focus. I did enjoy the show. I thought it was fun and interesting in its own right but I wish they had changed all the names completely if they were going to stray so far from the source. It may be a bad analogy but Bet is inspired by Kakegurui' the same way 50 Shades is inspired by Twilight.

Top Comment: Was there a particular reason they chose to deviate so far from the source material? Seems odd given how generally people liked One Piece but hated Death Note (a similar adaptation to this). Did no one look at the final product and think we weren’t going to rip it apart. Sorry if thats harsh but asking the US manga/ anime community to accept a standalone adaptation is a big ask considering how generally hateful and judgmental it can be. I’m sure we’re all curious who exactly this was tailored to besides fans of the source as well.
What do you think is the hardest and easiest sport to bet on?

Betting strat that's net me 10k+ this season so far, has hit 5 out of 7 times.
Main Post:
The basic strategy is essentially a massive hedge. I call it the 445, 555, or 556. Basically any of the highlighted players in these pictures can score and the slip would payout. It's designed to have 1 winning slip and the rest are just losers. As y'all know, anything can happen and it's possible to bust all your slips.
When 3 games are parlayed for the 1st TD scorer, the odds jump up crazy high. If all the most likely players score that 1st TD, the minimum payout will still 2x-3x all your risk for every slip placed. That's the minimum payout though. Now payout range is absolutely insane. I did a 445 which is 80 different possibilities (4x4x5) for a friend of mine. He risked a total of $80, $1 for each bet. Later that night he hit odds of +143,900 for $1,440. That's $1,360 in net profit. personally I've netted over $10,000 for this season already. Fucking crazy.
Basically, I like using these strats and placing all my bets on Saturday. Mainly due to that sometimes players get hurt in a prior week's game and continues playing. Then when practice comes around, they might agitate that injury and be out for the upcoming game. Personally that's the last thing I want, it'll void that player off your slip and adjust the odds to a 2 leg parlay. Which is no longer worth it when it comes to covering the rest of your risk for all the other slips placed. You could still hit on other slips, but you're covering less players and taking on more risk. Hate that.
Just to quickly breezing over how to calculate all your possibilities, here's what you do. Take your 3 games and multiple the # of players you'd wish to cover for each of those games. So for example if you covered 4 players from 2 games and 5 players from one. You'd multiple 4x4x5, that's 80 possibilities for all those highlighted players. So 5x5x5 is 125 possibilities for 5 players covered for each of those 3 games. This strat will still at minimum 2x your risk when you decide to cover 556. Another beauty about this is that it's scalable to whatever you'd like to risk. The multiplier remains the same. Draftkings requires a minimum bet of $0.10. With that said, you could try this strat out with $0.10 which is a total risk of $8 on a 445. If it hits you'd at minimum get $16. Your maximum payout just depends on what strat you picked. You can expect over 10x your total risk, 100%.
This wraps up my strategy I've been using this season. To anyone who trys this out, I wish y'all the best of luck. Play it safe, risk what you can afford to lose. Stay safe y'all :)
Top Comment: Gonnna give this one a go next week! Thanks for the cool round robin idea!
